Thanks, man! It’s been pretty much a birthday week, with a surprise trip to Sydney, crazy fun, heaps of food and stacks of presents. Pretty much the best birthday ever, which is why I’ve been too busy having fun to do schoolwork/tumblr/boring life stuff!

This gif was my entry for a uni-run competition to make a 5-frame animation for an upcoming animation conference. The theme was The Animation Machine. Rather than do something completely literal, I wanted to channel old-school animation, so I’ve smooshed together Fleischer Bros with 90’s Nickelodeon. It was quite a challenge cramming anticipation and fluid motion into 5 frames, I can tell you!
My entry WON(!), which means it’ll be made into a lenticular card for the conference. I had this in mind when animating, so the 5 frames are designed to go back and forth, rather than loop.
I’ll show you guys the postcards when I get my little hands on ‘em!
…did I mention that I take Draw Something very seriously?
